I have been a Parent, Associate and Co-opted Governor at Holmleigh.  I also was a teacher at Holmleigh for over 20 years. I retired in 2025. As a native Turkish speaker, I have supported Turkish speaking parents in many ways, as well as other parents, and continue to manage mid-term admission meetings. I also managed the induction of new EAL pupils. Since 2001 I have co-ordinated 4 Comenius and Erasmus + international exchange projects, as well as 3 visits to Turkey for pupils to participate in the annual 23rd April International Folk Dance Festival. In all we have taken nearly 100 pupils for weeklong stays with families overseas. I feel very proud to be part of this wonderful and successful school, and to work within such a dedicated and enthusiastic team
