Introducing our Hackney Reading Champions

We are excited to announce our very own Reading Champions for the upcoming school year: Tayla-Rae, Daniel and Serena from Year 6.

These Reading Champions will work to raise the profile of reading within the school and encourage reading for pleasure. They attended the launch on Wednesday 18^th October at Hackney Town Hall, where they met Reading Champions from other Hackney Schools, and the illustrator, Sav Akyus, who has collaborated on books such as I Am Bear, Big and Bear Moves. They were set challenges to complete throughout the year which will encourage and build a reading ethos and stamina. As part of their role, they will meet half- termly with other schools to create networks, supporting pupil voice across the borough. We are very proud of them.
