Curriculum Committee

Our Curriculum Committee is made up of 8 members, 1 boy and 1 girl from each class from Year 3 to Year 6. They were selected to support with reviewing the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes and personal development at Holmleigh Primary School. They will meet once a month and help with parent tours.

Josiah (Year 6)

My name is Josiah and I am in Year 6. Science is my favourite subject because you can learn about space and chemicals.

I enjoy playing football for my football club and I like playing PS5 on FC25. I like being at Holmleigh because there’s always something new happening and there are lots of different activities and trips. I think that we can add even more food to the school menu.

Leah (Year6)

Hello, my name is Leah and I am in Year 6. I came to Holmleigh in Year 4. My favourite subjects are Art, P.E and Maths.

I enjoy drawing with my brother Joshua and I like playing football with my friends. I also like to look after the children in Nursery, Reception and KS1. I like being at Holmleigh because the grown-ups help me to express my feelings. I think that it would be a good idea to have a space in the playground where children can have a talk about their feelings- emotions space. We could also have a toilet monitors.

Anaaf (Year 5 )

My name is Anaaf and I am in Year 5. I enjoy reading and art. My favourite subject is Maths.

I really enjoy being in the curriculum committee because I can help to make the school better.  We helped Miss Boateng with writing the School Evaluation Form. That’s a form that the school uses to say what it’s doing really well in and what it needs to continue working on. I think that the teachers are working really hard on educating the children. I love how the teachers focus on our learning. I think that we need to work on stopping the children who play in the toilets.

Egemen ( Year 5)

My name is Egemen and I am in Year 5.My favourite subject is History.

I like playing with my friends and this makes me happy.  I like being at Holmleigh because it’s a nice school and I like playing football with my friends. I want to help Miss Boateng and the other teachers to make Holmleigh Primary School even better than it already is.

I think Holmleigh could be better by being a bigger school and have a bigger playground.

Deniz (Year 4)

Hello, my name is Deniz and I am in Year 4. I enjoy reading about facts and adventure books and I also enjoy writing stories and creating picture books. I play football and I love swimming. I am well organised and I like to make sure that everything around me is clean and tidy.  I like being at Holmleigh because we have amazing teachers and fabulous lessons!

In this group, I want to make sure that after children have eaten their lunch that they scrape their food into the food bin carefully and tidily. I also want to make sure that all of our reading books are in great condition.

Nabil (Year 3)

My name is Nabil and I am in Year 3. My favourite subject is Maths. Playing with my friends makes me happy.

In my mind I feel happy and in my body I feel energetic. I like being at Holmleigh because it is a place to explore. I like the monkeys because I like to do backflips! I want to help Miss Boateng and the other teachers to make Holmleigh Primary School even better than it already is. I think Holmleigh could be better by being a bigger school and have a bigger playground.

Lumi (Year 3)

My name is Lumi and I am in Year 3. My favourite subject is Maths and my favourite colour is purple.

I enjoy doing gymnastics.  I take ballet lessons and drama lessons. When people are hurt I like to make them feel better. I like being at Holmleigh because everyone is so kind. At the moment, I can’t think of what I’d like us to work on to make Holmleigh even better, but I will keep thinking about it.
