02 Apr Angie Manderson Teacher, Assistant Head Teacher, Early Years Lead, Maths Lead, Phase Lead for EYFS and Year 1 and Co-opted Governor
My Name is Angie I am the EYTL and nursery class teacher at Holmleigh. My teaching career started in 1997 after I graduated from Goldsmiths University. I always knew I wanted to become a teacher and as a child I used to line up my dolls and boss them about!
I have worked in several primary schools teaching across the age range. I have been the lead teacher in a Children’s Centre and the co-ordinator for Humanities, Literacy and the Learning Environment.
since joining Holmleigh in 2010 I have specialised in the Early Years. I have a sustained interest in conflict resolution and equipping children with lifelong skills to resolve conflicts successfully . Holmleigh is an extremely nurturing school, which develops children holistically so they become well-rounded individuals, who make a positive contribution to the community and wider society.
I am Passionate about all children being given the equal opportunity to learn in their own way at their own rate. I believe that learning is a continuous process and you are never too old to learn something new! In my spare time, I love to paint and read
My job is to guide and inspire children through meaningful experiences, which enable them to learn skills and deeper knowledge through quality relationships that empower them. My greatest joy is to give others. to teach… is my vocation in life, I teach because I know I can make a difference.
