Nilgun ErcanTeacher, School Liaison Officer, Attendance Officer and Co-opted Governor

I have been a Parent, Associate and Co-opted Governor at Holmleigh.  I am now employed in the school as a teacher of Class 5. I have additional responsibilities including monitoring of whole school attendance and EAL support. As a native Turkish speaker I have supported Turkish speaking parents in many ways, as well as other parents, and continue to manage mid-term admission meetings. I also manage the induction of new EAL pupils. Since 2001 I have co-ordinated 4 Comenius and Erasmus + international exchange projects, as well as 3 visits to Turkey for pupils to participate in the annual 23^rd April International Folk Dance Festival. In all we have taken nearly 100 pupils for week long stays with families overseas. I feel very proud to be part of this wonderful and successful school, and to work within such a dedicated and enthusiastic team
