Physical Education
Physical Education (PE) is hugely important to Holmleigh Primary School as children need to be active on a daily basis for their health and well-being. All pupils will participate in an enriched programme that builds confidence in their physical ability and builds on their love for movement.
We are very proud of our PE Lead, Innogen Fryer, who was the Active School Hero Winner 2019 for her efforts to encourage all children in the school to be active: https://twitter.com/activesch_hero/status/1152622608388644866
All Holmleigh children will participate in an hour’s PE lesson each week, introducing them to a variety of different sports and physical skills. These lessons are led by our brilliant teachers who are passionate about supporting all children to develop and grow.
Different classes will also have opportunities to work with experts in their field such as fencing, taekwondo, yoga and swimming and will have one off lessons with various companies promoting different sports. We try to ensure all children are given opportunities to find a sport or physical activity that grabs their interest.
As well as this, our school clubs offer many enrichment opportunities such as fencing, taekwondo, cycling, yoga, gymnastics and football.
